Mrs Elizabeth Obese hails from Anum in the Eastern region of Ghana. She speaks Guan, English and Twi but writes fluent English and Twi.
She attended Anum Presbyterian Secondary School from where she obtained the General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ Level. She later enrolled and studied at the Takoradi Polytechnic and obtained the Royal Society of Arts Stage III Certificate 1992.Her quest for excellence and quality education offered her an opportunity to study for the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom programme.
She qualified as Chartered Accountant in 2002 and was admitted as an Associate member of the ACCA in the same year because of her competence on the job during the period of her training. In November 2007, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. She also holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management awarded by the University of Cape Coast.

In terms of professional experience, she was appointed an Accounting Assistant in the Directorate of Finance, University of Cape Coast in 1996. She was appointed as Assistant Accountant in the year 2000 and was promoted to Senior Accountant in 2003.
By dint of hard work, she was appointed the Deputy Director of Finance of the University of Cape Coast from April, 2009 to September, 2014.Currently Mrs Obese is the Director of Finance of University of Cape Coast. A position she has held since 1st October, 2014. She has also rendered a number of outreach services. She was a member of the General Assembly Council of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana from 2004 to 2007, Chairperson of Committee on Accounts and Budget, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Western Presbytery from 2007 to date.

Currently, Mrs Obese serves as a Non-Executive Director of Brooks Asset Management Ltd, and a Board Chairperson of NADWOS Project, a Non Governmental Organisation in the field of Health, Water and Sanitation. She is also an Executive Director of YAA AMPEMAA EDUCATION FUND, a Non Governmental Organisationthat supports needy but brilliant students.
Due to her hard work, loyalty and selfless service to the University, she was awarded the ‘BEST WORKER’ (Senior Member-Administration) in 2007.
Mrs Obese is happily married to Mr. Daniel Ntow Obese and they are blessed with three (3) children, Vida, Ernest and Evelyn.
